Minutes: On June 3rd, 2025, the West Chapter of TAPS had their “May” meeting on Zoom at 6pm. . Members present included: Andrew Stokes Henry Williams Jimmy Cleveland Dr. Sandy Mehlhorn Mike Frye Tommy Young The minutes from our January meeting were reviewed and approved. The treasury report stated there to be $902.80 in the checking account after donating $250 to the PAC and $250 to the ATV at the March Conference. TAPS Board of Directors report: A. We discussed the success of the Day on the Hill along with our good reputation among and good relationships with our elected officials. B. We discussed the success of Senate Bill 980 being passed and signed into law as Public Chapter No. 178 and mentioned Tim Lingerfelt’s efforts and the ease at which the bill passed through committees and became law. C. We discussed the continued work of the TN Land Surveyors Outreach, some of the efforts of Dan Curry & Benny Moorman, the need for corporate sponsorships and mentorships, and the $7,000 raised at the TAPS conference. D. We briefly discussed that the budget would be reviewed and dues considered at the June BOD meeting. Board of Examiners report: A. We discussed the update to the board rules and everyone seemed properly informed. Old business: A. There was no old business New business: A. We discussed the need for more women in the land surveying profession and the desire to seek ideas and efforts to bring more in as we can. Adjourned: at 6:27pm
